As a student, she worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard at the pool and following her graduation, she continued to coordinate the Learn to Swim program and be the supervisor for instructors and lifeguards. Throughout the next three years, she continued to work as a swim coach with the college and clubs in Westchester County. In between, she was a stage manager and then actor with the Performance Youth Troupe (PYT) at the Mind Builders Creative Center in the Bronx, jumpstarting her pursuits through there - studying and performing Big Mo' from Fires in the Mirror, Tee in Fountain of Youth by Maria Barrientos, and Ayanna in Night Vision by Dominique Morriseau.
Once the pandemic swept the world by its feet, opportunities were very limited, and to coaching she kept. As rules continued to lift away with vaccine shots and booster shots, she went to be a freelance actor and model – working as a hand model for Hexclad and Remy Martin, starting to branch out to tiktok ads and instagram reels for advertisements. Within those couple of years, finally got on the set of Law & Order, which for a New Yorker and any actor, is a major highlight to add to the career. After some time, she thought it would be a good idea to get a fulltime job and started at the Manhattan School of Music as an Associate Production Manager. In the last three years, Lorena has evolved with the community of Latine artists in NYC and has been part of several staged readings. One of her full length plays, Cupido, No Me Jodas, went to have a staged reading in June of 2022 thanks to the Latinx Playwrights Circle, and recently had another for Silencio y Piedad in November with Brookmil Productions. She was semi-finalist for the 4th annual Nosotros Ya Tu Sabes Monologue Slam in 2022; her most recent credits include Bartender on the Prospect Park TV Show, and Maria in the debut of Hold Yr Terror Close by Dani Wilder for Pridefest 2023 at The Tank NYC. Right now, Lorena continues her full feat as a freelance actor and model while also diving into her playwriting world as it's still a little new.
